Guide to Upgrading Your Anti-Tank Mech
What follows is a crash-course in which countries have which upgrades, and how they effect online play. Also included is a generalized upgrade order, which should give new players an idea on what they effect, and when to research them.
By no means do you have to get every upgrade possible, but at least try to keep pace, or stay ahead of the upgrades of your opponents. Make sure to pay attention to terrain, and scout the enemy, to help decide which upgrades best suit your current in-game situation (and the troops you have in the field).

Guide to Upgrading Your Anti-Tank Mech
It is important for newer players to understand which upgrades to get, and when to get them, to be successful in online play. Keep in mind if you ask 10 different people, you would probably get 10 different answers to this question, so what follows is a general guide which in no way is cast in stone. This guide has been designed to give newer players an idea which upgrades effect Anti-Tank Mech, and how these upgrades apply to the game.
Some upgrades effect all vehicles, but several of them only effect certain units. Before you order any performance enhancing upgrades you must first make sure these upgrades will actually effect the troops you have in the field. For example, the
Diesel Engines upgrade will not effect the
Artillery Mech regiment, as they have no armor units in them (although the
AT Mech regiment does).
If the upgrade listed is not available to your country of choice, or does not fit your situation, simply skip to the next upgrade in the list.
[1] Military Surplus
When playing as Britian, Japan, or Russia, Military Surplus will generally be your first upgrade in ANY online game, regardless of whay type of build you plan on. Important to get your economy going in the early game!
[2] Mechanized Production
Mechanized production will reduce the cost of the AT Mech regiment from $150 to $128. This upgrade is really only worth the $100 cost if you plan on making more than 6 AT Mech . Making 6 you only save $32, but the more you make, the more you will save!
DEPLOY YOUR AT-MECH
No sense in upgrading your AT Mech until you have produced them... Performance upgrades can be researched as needed, trying to keep pace, or stay ahead of the upgrades of your opponents (you can left click on an enemy to see which upgrades they possess)
[3] Mechanical Reliability
The 10% health advantage offered by Mechanical Reliability gives a noticeable boost to the performance of all vehicles. Also helps regiments to survive special op bombs. A must have upgrade that will offer benefits the remainder of the game (effects armor as well)
[4] Improved Machine Guns
Depending on your build, you may have researched this at the infantry stage of the game... If not, make sure to grab it now to give your Halftrack Units that extra punch, especially vs infantry.
[5] Schurzen
Germany has no way to upgrade the health of their vehicles, but Schurzen offers a +15% AP Resist for armor units... a bonus that is not available to any other country. Although it does not effect the Halftrack Units of the AT Mech regiment, it will upgrade the strongest part of the regiment, the Tank Destroyers . Also, Schurzen does offer greater resistance to the Kamikaze special op, but has no effect on any of the other special op bombs
[6] Diesel Engines
Surprisingly, even though the Diesel Engines upgrade only effects armor units, it has a profound effect on the speed of the AT Mech regiment.. Why? A regiment can only move as fast as it's slowest unit, which in the case of AT Mech it's the two armor units (tank destroyers ). Therefore, the entire regiment will receive a +15% Max Speed bonus... This helps greatly with retreating, especially after being hit by a special op bomb (armor units are often the only survivors).
[7] Foraging
Another upgrade that may have been researched during the infantry stage of the game... However, if you have yet to research it, you might consider it now. The ability to heal 15% faster while in zone of supply is a bargain for $75
[8] Advanced Armor Training
Available exclusively to Germany, Advanced Armor Training is usually considered a late game upgrade for your Heavy and/or Arty Tanks , yet can have some positive effects for AT Mech under the right circumstances. The +3 Morale will allow your AT Mech to hold longer vs Arty Tanks provided you also have an advantage in numbers..
[9] NEED TO FULLY UPGRADE YOUR AT-MECH?
Making alot of AT-Mech? The following 2 upgrades require the artillery brigade ( $150) so we will classify them as "luxury" upgrades for your AT Mech . These upgrades make sense if you are making enough AT Mech (12-18) to get into, and possibly thru, the armor stage of the game.(otherwise it might be better to concentrate on getting armor regiments out)
[9a] Gyrostabilized Tank Guns
The "mack daddy" of all armor upgrades, Gyrostabilized Tank Guns offers a massive +10 attack value to all armor units. Even though it only effects the tank destroyers of the AT Mech regiment, it would come much higher in our list of AT Mech upgrades if not for it's high cost.
(Arty Brigade $150 + Gyrostabilized Tank Guns $150 = $300)
[9b] Plentiful Ammunition
Same deal as Foraging but costs a little more ( $100 instead of $75) and offers a smaller bonus (only a +10% bonus instead of +15%)
[10] OPTIONAL - NON ESSENTIAL UPGRADES
These are the remaining upgrades that effect AT Mech - and are NOT required by any stretch of the imagination. Irregardless, here they are anyway:
[10a] Improved Logistics
Available to every country except Russia, this upgrade effects just about every structure and unit in the game. Gives a Bonus of +5 Detection Range for units, and +5 Supply Range for structures that provide a zone of supply . Though the effect may seem small, it does make a difference when laying out supply lines, detecting enemy troop movements, and also helps any regiment that has the bombard ability. Alot of players consider this the last upgrade they get for their arties (late in game), but at only $50 you have a little freedom when you would like to research it.
[10b] Entrenchment
Usually a late game upgrade since it is researched from the engineer brigade , but may have some applications in the early-to-mid game, depending on style of play.
In Conclusion
There is no magic upgrade order that will work in every situation, so be able to adapt your strategies and tactics to keep your gameplay fluid.
Words of Wisdom
"You have to be fast on your feet and adaptive or else a strategy is useless."
