Axis and Allies Mouse Control
Although it is important to master your
keyboard shortcuts , many of the important game tasks and actions can be handled via the mouse.
Mousover Image for more Info
Left Click
The left click is used for selecting structures and regiments. It can also be used for action commands but the action must be selected first. In most cases it is easier to use the right click for actions. Common uses:
HOLD DOWN LEFT CLICK + DRAG over a group of regiments to select them all (up to 6)
LEFT CLICK ON ENEMIES for more info on your opponent, such as morale, combat effectiveness, upgrades, etc..
SHIFT or CONTROL + LEFT CLICK is used for chain commands for building, see our engineer page for more info
Right Click
The Right Click is used for actions such as Move, Attack, and Deploy To. Common uses:
WITH A REGIMENT SELECTED - right click on enemies to attack them, or right click a spot on the map to move there
WITH A HQ SELECTED - right click a spot on the map to set the deploy to location. Regiments (and trucks) will automatically head to that location when deployed.
SHIFT or CONTROL + RIGHT CLICK - will use chain commands for movement, the selected truck/regiment will move to a series of selected points, in order. Search our site for chain commands for more info
ALT + RIGHT CLICK - will order selected regiments to retreat to that location
Mouse/Scroll Wheel
Adjusts the view/zoom, in most cases you get the best view of the battlefield with the view zoom set back as far as possible.
TIP: Facing your Troops
When moving your troops, you can control the direction they face when they arrive at the targeted location, by simply holding down the click (when issuing the move command) and rotating the mouse. Works with both the left and right click methods of movement. Very handy when retreating so that your forces will turn around and face the advancing enemy, rather than being attacked from behind. The same technique can be used when
building AA to point them in the right direction.
So now you know your mouse control... Better make sure to also learn the basics of using your keyboard in Axis and Allies RTS, in our
