Armor > Light Tank Regiment Axis and Allies RTS
Not Recommended

At the start of WW2, the light tank was a vital part of the blitzkrieg warfare Germany used so effectively, to quickly conquer country after country. In many cases their opponents had no match for them, as some countries where still using cavalry! But by the end of the war the light tank was usually outclassed and virtually obsolete. Since the setting for A&A is late in the war, it makes sense that the light tank regiment has very little value in online play.

"The tank stage is the last and most difficult stage in Axis and Allies. It requires the most micro, because not only do you have to control a plethora of units in the field, but you have to defend your base from para drops and bomber planes." [more basic strategy]

The Light Tank Regiment's strength is it's speed, however by the time you are building the required armor hq's to deploy them, they will likely be outclassed by all other regiments on the field of battle.

Light Tank Regiment
All Light Tank regiments consist of:
[1] Command Tank
[3] Light Tank Units *
* Every country except Japan has 3 Light Tanks units per light tank regiment (Japan has 4)

In our never-ending quest to leave no stone unturned, let's look at one of the least important armored regiments in A&A. When comparing any regiment you must consider the differences of the various units present in each regiment, and any upgrades that may help them on the battlefield. So here's the basic stats of Light Tank Units and Command Units, followed by a Comparison of Units.

Japan has the worst attack value and health, and worst light tanks. But at least has 4 units per regiment where all others have 3.

Light Tank Units |  Command Units

Although Japan has the weakest command and light tanks, they have more light tank units than the other countries, giving them the slight edge over Britian
Light Tank Units |  Command Units

You shouldn't be deploying the light tank regiment with any country, especially Great Britian.
Light Tank Units |  Command Units

In Conclusion
Not to say a skilled player couldn't find a way to use the light tank regiment effectively, the "window of opportunity" for this regiment is very small. Probably only good for a quick hit "base rush" or if you can greatly outnumber the enemy. This regiment is NOT recommended 99% of the time.
