WORLD WAR II | GOLIATH sdkfz302
The Goliath tank, also referred to as a tracked mine or beetle tank (British version), was a remote controlled demolition vehicle employed by Nazi Germany. Small in size, this caterpillar tracked vehicle was approximately 4'Lx2'Wx1'H, and carried 165-220lb of high explosives. The goliath was intended to be used for a variety of purposes, such as destroying tanks, disrupting dense infantry formations, demolition of bridges and buildings, and even had a version that could be equipted with a camera for reconnaissance (rare).
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Either controlled by radio or wire, there were several at Utah Beach for D-Day. The Germans had planned to drive them right up the ramps of the landing craft but the radio control system went down so the goliath didnt end up seeing action that day.
AXIS and ALLIES RTS | GOLIATH INFANTRY
While the Goliath Infantry is definately and interesting regiment, it faces major challenges in being a logical chioce in most multiplayer situations.... C'mon? A remote controlled tank full of explosives? Sounds good right? First off, Germany faces many challenges in regards to the infantry portion of the multiplayer game. The time for infantry is early in the game, a time which should be spent developing the poor German economy if at all possible. But if you want to make them anyway, here's some pointers.
The German Goliath Infantry regiment can perform well under some LIMITED situations.
Like the Japanese Kamikaze, the strongest unit of this regiment is guaranteed to die. You must keep this regiment in supply!
Can be good while entrenched in cities, versus non artillery vehicles or against Buildings (only while in supply)
Monitor their health closely, when the goliaths have blown, RETREAT! RETREAT! RETREAT!

AXIS & ALLIES RTS | COMBAT and the GOLIATH
The goliath tank unit will not attack enemy infantry, leaving them at a disadvantage versus every infantry regiment other than recon.
Goliath infantry is also too slow to chase down and finish off most mechanized/armored units, so best used in combination with other types of forces, on heavily forested maps, or entrenched in a defensive role.
They are slow and weak versus infantry, but if you can manage to capture a city that flanks an enemy base, Goliath infantry is great versus buildings. However, so are many other regiments, so this type of tactic is usually used to "rub salt in your wounds"..
"I pooned your noob *** with goliaths, lolz..."
