Generals of Axis & Allies RTS
It is important to tailor your strategies to take advantage of the
strengths of a particular country and general; while at the same time avoiding both their
weaknesses and inferior units.
Strengths AT Mech, Armor Weaknesses Economy, Airborne, Specialized Infantry, Airpower
As with any successful
strategy within Axis and Allies, you must be ready to counter the tactics and strategies of your opponents.
Reconnaissance is key! You can't be prepared if you don't know whats coming.
General Kesselring Considered to be one of the weakest generals for multiplayer. But don't resign just yet... Although
infantry is never your first option with Germany, if the
terrain supports it, you might consider German mortars; to take advantage of
Military Gear Up . Also, if you can get to the armor stage of the game, you have one of the strongest non-bomb special operations in A&A...

General Manstein Manstein is almost Germany's strongest general for multiplayer, as his special ops
V Weapons ,
Propaganda War , and
Espionage have just slightly less game-long impact than those of General Rundstedt*.

General Rommel Considered to be one of the weakest generals for multiplayer, since he lacks a special op that has much effect in the early to mid-game; and also faces the challenges of Germany. But don't resign just yet... Use your
paper tanks to harrass the enemy and
steal cities , and if you can get to the armor stage of the game, you have one of the strongest non-bomb special operations in A&A...

General Montgomery Montgomery is easily the strongest British general, as his one-two punch of
Carpet Bomb and
Fighting Spirit are powerful, and can be effective at any point in the game.
"The U.S. has broken the second rule of war. That is, don't go fighting with your land army on the mainland of Asia. Rule One is don't march on Moscow. I developed these two rules myself." US approach to the Vietnam War

General Mountbatten Mountbatten is the stronger of the two british
Sabateur generals, as his second special op,
Smoke Barrage , is probably his strongest.
"War is a noble art." General Mountbatten - Axis and Allies RTS

General Wavell Wavell is Great Britian's second strongest general, as he is fortunate enough to have a
Carpet Bomb . However, the rest of his special ops have little to no use and/or impact in online play.
"After the ‘war to end war’ they seem to have been pretty successful in Paris at making a ‘Peace to end Peace’ " Commenting on the treaties ending WWI

General Wingate Wingate is probably the weakest British general, although his special ops are perfectly suited for an early game
SAS rush.. Use
Economic Aid to save $75 you would otherwise have to spend on supply depots, and
Infantry Resupply to help your SaS push beyond the
zone of supply .

General Kuribayashi Although
Banzai Charge can prove useful in a variety of different situations (since it effects
infantry and vehicles), the rest of the
special ops of Kuribayashi have little effect in online play.. This makes Kuribayashi Japan's weakest general.
"Death before Disgrace" Tadamichi Kuribayashi - Axis and Allies RTS

General Mikawa Mikawa is one of the most well rounded, no-bomb generals.
Lend Lease , and
special ops that work in a variety of different situations make Mikawa a favorite of veterans of Axis and Allies RTS.

General Nagumo Nagumo is Japan's second strongest general, as his
Kamikaze can deliver an punishing 400 AP damage.. Although, Nagumo's other

General Chuikov Chuikov is Russia's strongest and most versatile general, and also happens to be one of the strongest late-game generals.
Want to go infantry? Russia is good at putting alot of regiments on the field quickly (with the
Conscription upgrade) and Chuikov can use his Carpet Bomb to help dominate the early infatry battles.
Want to make AT-Mech? Russian AT-Mech is underrated, and only needs a little help to compete vs USA and German mech. Chuikov can offer that help with Assembly Line.
Want to make Armor? Russia can be a powerhouse in the late game, with
Tank Production and a decent economy, combine that with Chuikov's Carpet Bomb and Assembly Line, and you have the ingredients for some major ground assaults.
"He ordered us to stand fast and save Stalingrad. So we knew then that it was do or die. We could not retreat." Vasily Chuikov

General Konev Russia is considered an "infantry" country, and all of Konev's special ops are well suited for the infantry game.
If your opponent has no/few bombs: Feel free to make large quantities of
snipers ,
regular infantry , or even
conscripts , and go for the early game win. In such builds, make sure to get your
infantry upgrades and use favorable terrain such as cities, forests, and jungle to your advantage! Charge your EXP, get your supply ready, and when you are ready to push, try using all 3 of Konev's special ops at once! Watch as your infantry will dominate the front lines!
Mid-to-Late game: Smoke barrage will be Konev's only viable special op, but thats not as bad as it sounds. Many players consider smoke barrage to be one of the more powerful special ops, and if you don't have a bomb, smoke is the next best thing.
"We plan alone but we fulfill our plans together with the enemy, as it were, in accordance with his opposition." Ivan Konev

General Rokossovski Russia is good at putting alot of regiments on the field quickly, with the
Conscription and/or
Tank Production upgrades, and Rapid Deployment cranks it up another notch... [

This gives Rokossovski the advantage of infantry and armor that costs less than any other general, perfect for
spamming !

Mid-to-Late game: Mid-to-Late game, Rapid Deployment will be Rokossovski's only viable special op, but thats not as bad as it sounds. Putting more units on the field, for less money, is always a good thing.
"The troops of the Don Front at 4pm on the 2nd February 1943 completed the rout and destruction of the encircled group of enemy forces in Stalingrad. Twenty two divisions have been destroyed or taken prisoner." General Rokossovski - 1943
General Zhukov One of the weakest generals for multiplayer, since he lacks a "decent" special op. But don't resign just yet... You can still play to the
strengths of Russia.. If the
terrain supports it, you might consider
spamming snipers ... If you don't win early try a hold out for the armor stage of the game, as Russian armor is first-rate!
"If we come to a minefield, our infantry attacks exactly as it were not there." General Zhukov

General Arnold
One of the strongest Generals for multiplayer, short of
Nimitz . Add a
Carpet Bomb to the powerful
AT-Mech ,
Arties , and
Airpower of the USA, and you have a recipe for possible victory.
"Offense is the essence of Airpower" General Arnold - Axis and Allies RTS
General Eisenhower
Another one of the strongest Generals for multiplayer, Eisenhower is the ultimate
"eco whore" general. His
Lend Lease special op makes the best economy in the game that much better. Eisenhower can also be dominant during the "Mech" stage of the game with the proper use of
Mechanized Advance .
"The hand of the aggressor is stayed by strength - and strength alone." General Eisenhower - July 3, 1951
