General Bernard Law Montgomery
Bernard Law Montgomery
AXIS and ALLIES RTS

Montgomery in North Africa
Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, KG, GCB, DSO, PC(1887–1976), often referred to as "Monty", was a British Army officer.

He successfully commanded Allied forces at the Battle of El Alamein, a major turning point in World War II, and troops under his command were largely responsible for the expulsion of Axis forces from North Africa. He was later a prominent commander in Italy and North-West Europe, where he was in command of all Allied ground forces during Operation Overlord until after the Battle of Normandy.

"We must win this, together!"
General Montgomery - Axis and Allies RTS

"The U.S. has broken the second rule of war. That is, don't go fighting with your land army on the mainland of Asia. Rule One is don't march on Moscow. I developed these two rules myself."
(US approach to the Vietnam War)

AXIS and ALLIES RTS

Carpet Bomb - One of the most powerful special ops in the game. Sends a wave of long range bombers to carpet bomb a target area. [compare all the special op bombs]

The Double Bomb - The most important aspect in online multiplayer is to coordinate the use of the carpet bomb with the other "bombs" your allies may (or may not) have. The "double bomb" can have devastating effects on enemy forces when used correctly. When you have acquired enough experience for your carpet bomb, let your allies know, and if someone else has one, hold onto yours until you can "double". [more info]

The Single Bomb - Occasionally there are circumstances where you may need to use a single bomb to defend a base, or to prevent your forces from being "pinched". Once again, communicated with your allies, ask them if they have anything to counter the threat, and if not, go ahead and single bomb.

If you have the only bomb on your team you have a little more freedom about when and where to use it. However, with freedom comes some responsibilty, so keep an eye on battlefield conditions, and if your allies need it more than you do, help them out.

The Front Lines - Another important aspect of using any bomb type special op, is to use them where you have nearby forces. Not only can you chase down wounded/routed regiments and "finish them off", but you can also use this as an opportunity to "push" (advance) the front lines, as enemy forces will be retreating to heal.

Charging Your Bomb - You also have a responsibilty to your allies to try to "charge" your bomb quickly by gaining as much experience as possible. That may mean you focus a little less on your economy, and a little more on making regiments and getting them into battle. The more troops you have fighting the quicker you will gain exp for your bomb!

More Info on this Special Op Fighting Spirit  EXPERIENCE NEEDED300
RECHARGE TIME300  DURATION60  DEFENSE VALUE+2  MORALE+1  MAX SPEED+20%
AXIS and ALLIES RTS

Fighting Spirit
Fighting Spirit - Targeted units are granted a boost in morale, defense and speed. Fighting spirit is a versatile special op, that can be used on any type of regiment, and can make the difference in closely contested battles. It also offers a pretty good value for the 300 EXP cost, compared to other specials in that price range.

You can use it in the early game, just make sure it is going to make a difference that's worth delaying your carpet bomb. If you can inflict heavy losses to enemy units and/or structures, go for it! Otherwise, save it for later in the game.

NOTE: Can I combine this special op with other, similar special op's? [link]

AXIS and ALLIES RTS

Code Breaker
Code Breaker - When placed on the map, this radio tower will temporarily reveal all nearby enemy units or structures.. If you use this special in the early game, make sure the intel is worth it. The 200 EXP cost isn't much, but still much more important to save that EXP for your carpet bomb if at all possible. Can be used in the late game to probe enemy defenses for a weak spot, or to reveal enemy troop movements.

More Info on this Special Op Corp Reorganization  EXPERIENCE NEEDED1000
RECHARGE TIME3600  ONE NEW CORP HQ (PER HOUR) (1) Corp HQ
AXIS and ALLIES RTS

Placing your second Corp HQ
Corp Reorganization - Everyone has to deploy a new corp hq from time to time. Don't be hasty about placing that second corp (this special op can only be used once per hour). Make sure you have resolved the situation that caused you to lose your first one! You can always ask your allies if the have a safe place, their base defenses may be better than yours.

If there is no safe place wait until there is one! Move your technology buildings in the meantime, as they may be subject to attack following the fall of your corp hq (losing those buildings too will limit the regiments you can produce).

Keep in mind your second Corp HQ will become a "high priority" target for your enemies. If they can destroy your second corp, and your technology buildings, you will be stuck making only light tanks or halftracks (depending on the tents you have left), which really can't compete in the later stages of the game (or any stage of the game for that matter).

 General Montgomery
Montgomery is easily the strongest British general, as his one-two punch of Carpet Bomb and Fighting Spirit are powerful, and can be effective at any point in the game.
