Carpet Bomb - One of the most powerful special ops in the game. Sends a wave of long range bombers to carpet bomb a target area. (compare all the special op bombs)
The Double Bomb - The most important aspect in online multiplayer is to coordinate the use of the carpet bomb with the other "bombs" your allies may (or may not) have. The "double bomb" can have devastating effects on enemy forces when used correctly. When you have acquired enough experience for your carpet bomb, let your allies know, and if someone else has one, hold onto yours until you can "double". (more info)
The Single Bomb - Occasionally there are circumstances where you may need to use a single bomb to defend a base, or to prevent your forces from being "pinched". Once again, communicated with your allies, ask them if they have anything to counter the threat, and if not, go ahead and single bomb.
If you have the only bomb on your team you have a little more freedom about when and where to use it. However, with freedom comes some responsibility, so keep an eye on battlefield conditions, and if your allies need it more than you do, help them out.
The Front Lines - Another important aspect of using any bomb type special op, is to use them where you have nearby forces. Not only can you chase down wounded/routed regiments and "finish them off", but you can also use this as an opportunity to "push" (advance) the front lines, as enemy forces will be retreating to heal.
Charging Your Bomb - You also have a responsibility to your allies to try to "charge" your bomb quickly by gaining as much experience as possible. That may mean you focus a little less on your economy, and a little more on making regiments and getting them into battle. The more troops you have fighting the quicker you will gain exp for your bomb!

Last Shout: Operational Tactics are tactics and maneuvers coordinated with your allies, and when executed successfully, are usually more decisive in terms of victory; than tactics that occur in head-to-head isolation play.

Here's a good example of why it's important to "double bomb"
Notice how not a single regiment was killed by the first special op bomb
(the tank destroyers all survived)

yes double bombs are usually best, but in case of 2 carpets, or carpet and kamikaze, it usually won't be able to finish off armored divisions due to upgrades, basic health(russia), entrenchment, etc. if mixed with a V1 Rocket than it will be a lot more devastating, however it depends entirely on the draw. also single bombs are underrated Imho. if used correctly and in opportune situations it is very devastating, just as a double bomb but with 1 less bomb... opportune situations include a massive push from your side, in which the usage of a single bomb will allow you to quickly overrun and annihilate the opposition. another option is when the enemy is pushing against you, lock their forces in battle with yours, than get some of your own(or an ally's) forces to flank the enemy force, than when the flank is ready to move in use the single bomb and finish the enemy force off with your flankers, that way they won't be able to escape. |

the Kamikaze is actually 20% stronger versus armor than the V-weapon, and actually only 10% weaker than a double carpet, albeit with a small radius of effect...
other than that i agree 100%
another option that gets overlooked is to try and bomb your opponents when they are NOT is supply.. sometimes it will be obvious, like a base rush, but you can also turn on damage number in your configs and you will be able to see enemy troops healing.... which in turn tells you they are in supply.
not sure on any hard numbers on effects of bombs versus supplied/unsupplied targets; but from EXP I've noticed it seems to kill more... |
