The common name of a German heavy tank of the Second World War. The final official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B,[notes 1] often shortened to Tiger B.The ordnance inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 182. It is also known under the informal name Königstige[6] (the German name for the "Bengal tiger"), often translated as King Tiger or Royal Tiger by Allied soldiers.
The design followed the same concept as the Tiger I, but was intended to be even more formidable. The Tiger II combined the thick armor of the Tiger I with the sloped armor used on the Panther medium tank. The tank weighed almost seventy metric tons, was protected by 100 to 180 mm (3.9 to 7.1 in) of armor to the front, and was armed with the long barrelled 8.8 cm Kampfwagenkanone 43 L/71 gun.The chassis was also the basis for the Jagdtiger turretless tank destroyer.
The Tiger II was issued to heavy tank battalions of the Army (Schwere Heeres Panzer Abteilung - abbreviated s.H.Pz.Abt) and the Waffen-SS (s.SS.Pz.Abt). It was first used in combat with s.H.Pz.Abt. 503 during the Normandy campaign on 11 July 1944;on the Eastern Front the first unit to be outfitted with Tiger IIs was s.H.Pz.Abt. 501 which by 1 September 1944 listed 25 Tiger IIs operational.

The reason why the Allies were able to destroy these vehicles is by piercing on their thin armor near its Caterpillar tracks. Therefore once a shell hits there the Tiger is crippled and no longer can push forward to attack. That is the reason why the Russian T-34 tanks were able to outnumber the Tiger tanks and able to accumulate damage to the Tiger heavily.

These tanks were not made for that purpose mainly open field and snipers wich was their bread and butter.

LOL no, the Russian guns sucked at sniping except the 122mm witch was an improvement of the 100mm at accuracy. The German 75L mm and 85L mm were very accurate, T-34's were sniped form over 2Km with the 75L mm gun.

Well how come then there were more Russian snipers than the Germans? Russia was capable of recruiting by conscripting everybody while Germany lacked the people.

Oh, well the Russians only gave scopes to special people cause the scope was more costly than the soldier and rifle but German's also didn't have a large supply either, but they eventually developed (night vision) as far as tanks go Germans had more accuracy with the later versions of tanks Panther/ Tiger and also other guns Russians Had more power than accuracy like the 122mm and 100mm not that they were not accurate but not as much as the 75mm and 88mm.

Yea but the Germans had more power built into the weapons and armor. They sucked at accuracy against the Russians. Russia was capable of rebuilding and attacking again. That is one reason why the country is so vast and huge and still largest one in the world even after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990.

But for every German killed 5 allied died. And Russia's past is not so colorful it was small because of the Tatari but that's another history.

Hmm interesting. Never knew that every German accounts for 5 allies deaths. Yup it is another history of Russia which was the beginning of their empire.
