Operation Foxley

Since Hitler took the power in 1933, there have been many attemps to kill him. One of them was Operation Foxley, it was designed by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) to start in January 1944, one key year for the war. The SOE considered many differents ways for assasination. For example, with snipers (meanwhile Hitler walked across the Berghof´s forest), poisining his food or with one attack against the Führer´s train, among others.

Finally, the SOE decided to postpone the operation. The mayority of the historians and authors agree that the principal reason was the close guard around Hitler´s movements. There is an interesanting debate if Hitler´s death could have stopped the war or no.

There was another plot against Hitler. The most famous plot is the July 1944 plot. It failed and only destroyed a room.
