first objective, find the supply trucks milling about the map and destroy them. if you don't destroy these things quickly the AI general will enjoy the benefit of Military Gear Up for a very long time. destroying the trucks will also reduce the supply zone of the fortress and its regiments.
second objective, destroy the chain of supply depots extending from the mountain cities to the fortress. this will remove the conscription technology from that fortress army.
third objective, destroy the armies that occupy the surrounding cities. once you have annihilated the supporting army the fortress and it's regiments will be saddled with easy tech-- this makes it more expensive to replace any lost regiments-- and those regiments will have lower health than before.
fourth objective, destroy the fortress itself.
there are lots of ambushes that can be triggered as the game progresses. and the AI isn't going to wait around doing nothing-- they'll start building bunkers and artillery batteries to impede your progress.
the map has fog of war set to "full".
any feedback would be appreciated. I've already made a lot of changes (this is the second major version of this idea) |

one of the trickiest parts of creating this map was getting the infinite truck-loop figured out.
I wanted to have the supply trucks move from Point A to Point B over and over again. each time it would arrive at Point B it would create an actor-- the supply drop actor; which would then create a zone of supply for the Japanese Infantry tents.
first off, I had to disable the AI because no sooner had the trucks been assigned to the AI then they would immediately want to unpack them! so I had to disable the AI for the side that got assigned the trucks!
secondly, the loop had to start somewhere and end somewhere-- so I had to create two different areas as trigger points. then I had to create repeating triggers so that every time a truck entered the assigned zone it would move to the next zone automatically. the problem is, that I put the trucks inside of the first zone-- so it wouldn't activate the trigger! so I had to move the truck outside of the first zone, and then use a time based trigger to get it to start the loop.
sometimes when the trucks were driving through the dense mountainous regions between the cities and the forts, they would get stuck. so I had to create six trucks to make sure that the fort always stayed in supply.
then I had to create a series of triggers that acknowledged the destruction of each supply truck. although you could do that by monitoring each individual truck-- it made more sense to do that with a conditional trigger. so I created a trigger where the condition "actor is dead" could be applied to each of the supply trucks. this was done by selecting the appropriate condition trigger in the pull-down mene and then manually selecting each truck. once all six conditions were met, the objective was complete. |

I noticed that this map has been downloaded a few times-- has anybody beat the mission yet? was it too easy? too difficult? what did you like most about the map? anything about it that you didn't like?
and finally, did anybody read through the trigger list in the editor for help making their own maps? hope it was fun and helpful. |
