Bernard Montgomery was in many ways the image of a British military officer: he trained at the elite Sandhurst academy, served in India and then in France during the first World War, and ultimately rose to general during WWII. After the war, he was granted a peerage and took the title Viscount of Alamein. Axis and Allies RTS
