He made the Panzer units in Afrika unbeatable and also had the name "Ghost Division" in Europe due to his greatness. Before he was an ace commander in Panzers he was in charge of Infantry and changed their tactics even has a book about it its called Infantry Attacks good read.

True but that's what happens when you fight on 2 fronts, and stop a Blitzkreig and spread supplies not a good combination.

I think the allies downplayed Rommel's successes. There was some spy in Cairo with the British, who passed on information to Rommel. After the spy was caught, he successes decreased dramatically.

Actually that was not one of the points that Germany lost its hold in North Africa. US was about to begin their Operation Torch in the West because of rumors of the Vichy government controlled there.
That was one reason why Rommel had to draw back where he was put on the defense of Normandy until he got wounded and forced to commit suicide.

Actually that was all of the points they lost it in Afrika.

When you spread supplies out, your units are not getting ammo, oil, food and other necessities that if you don't get stops you in your tracks unless you draw back.

When you have a strategy like blitzkrieg you need it or you will soon suffer a lot of casualties or get annihilated.

Don't forget the British fleet was there helping the land forces. The attack on Malta was a failure for the Germans because it made the British to resupply their bases in Egypt which caused Rommel to extend the supply line.

Also the British fleet destroyed a lot of German supplies heading for Afrika.

Yea especially when the attack on Malta failed. Now Rommel's extra supplies and reinforcements were halted.
