well if you want some input post some info on your setup, like hardware, os, what other programs you run at same time, what happens when you fatal, etc....
really basic advice, turn off ALL the extras in the setup and run in 800x600. This includes audio and music as sometimes those will trigger a crash depending on config...
outside of that there's no way to give you advice with that little info.
