This strategy made by general mainstein him self is to flank all around your enemy in a circle then go in and atack it cuts supply and kills whats in the middle. It works on the russians for 2 years as well as the poles but russians were horrible in one battle. poles vs. russia, i think poland held them. russia lossses 1,000,000 pols lost 10,000

but later germnay reached warshaw and won poland and shared with russia till they broke the truse in 1942 by december they were almost in moscow then winter came in and cause the russians were more prepared and warmer and all that which the germnas didnt have the russian pushed back and thats about when blitzkrieg ended it ending in stalingrad mainly. Here is an exampal of a small blitzkrieg mainly tehre would be hundreds more tanks more open space and citys but this is jsut an exapal of a small blitzkrieg.

that sounds like the pincer movement to me, which has been around for centuries

There is some debate as to the creator of blitzkrieg warfare, although Heinz Guderian is usually credited, as Hitler loved his book Achtung - Panzer! (1937) but many of his ideas have been claimed to have been stolen from Der Kampfwagenkrieg (1934) or "the Tank War" by Ludwig Ritter von Eimmannsberger

Heinz Guderian did influence the installation of tank radios which helped German armor be able to complete coordinated maneuvers such as Blitzkrieg and the Pincer Movement... here's our page on Blitzkrieg:

only problem with this is that usually you won't have these huge open fields without mountains, cities nor bases in the way. in an event that the terrain actually allows it most *good* players won't let themselves get into such a situation in the first place. keep in mind that in reality you had the entire frontier to act in, in A&A you only have 1 specific battlefield, which means that the original blitzkrieg(as well as others) are actually *strategies* not *tactics* and in A&A only *tactics* can really be applied. the closest to strategy that you can get in A&A is your build order and victory plan, however the battles themselves are pure tactics.

Lightning war was effective in the early years of WWII but in this game I would not use blitzkrieg unless if you have tanks or anti-tanks so that you could either destroy your enemy easily.
