Axis and Allies, like many other RTS's, is all about economy (eco for short) and efficient control (micro for short) of fighting units. It'd be unwise to presuppose that both aspects of the game are equally as important in Axis and Allies because micro is a bit more important than eco. You can make all the money you want and buy whatever unit you want, but if you do not know how to efficiently handle them, winning will be a tough feat, if not impossible. What makes micro even more crucial to master, opposed to eco, is that in Axis and Allies, your units can heal themselves automatically (as long as they are in supply range). This means that your units can be infinitely recycled for battle. The fewer units you lose, the less money you need to spend on them and as a result, you can spend more money on improving your eco...... (more)

Hey
I find it hard to believe that I am the only one to post here?
But i agree on the micro being important.
What about the 4v4 to 2v2 team play of combined forces?
I have seen 3v1 2v1 too many time to say that the noobs should not know this about the game?
When you work well with a partner and learn to stay alive together and attack together, you create a very good punch!

Nice comment. Agreed. The longer you keep the recon alive the longer you have to build eco.
Once you master micro & eco you must tackle maps, terrain, supply, team work (individual vs team tactics), unit, generals etc............Hmmm micro is a pretty massive concept and it envelopes everything above and then some! So Rommel maybe we should delve further into the concept of Micro and create some sub domains/training points?
Cycling:Tactic
In hockey we call it cycling in the corner. You battle for control of space and the puck by constantly sending in fresh attackers to check the opponents. One player engages opponents, when his replacement arrives and engages, he retreats to a set defensive area where a friendly player is holding waiting for him. Upon seeing retreating player retreat the holding player begins his attack run, lining up his strike. The result is someone always hitting the opponent, some one retreating and and someone entering the battle.
If one cycles well awesome, but if four cycle as one in a 4v4 its DOMINATION
GLHF
Nice work Rommel SALUTE! |
