from my personal experience Tigers do very well on their own. no need to support them with any other unit. also if you have the proper terrain you can destroy mass arties quite easily with Tigers. also, the problem with "arty support" is that German arties don't have the range upgrade, so any other country's arties will outrange both your arties and your Tigers, which makes your own arty support rather bad. if you insist on arty support than you better call upon an ally who isn't Germany as well.
1 thing I like to do is to keep 4-6 mechs even after the "full" conversion to Tigers, for the simple reason that the Tank Destroyers cause paralysis, which makes it that much easier to finish off enemy regiments with your Tigers. |

i guess if you talking tiger vs arty isolation play, then yes certainly the tigers can be effective. but only if they can stay in tight on the arties and keep a continual push going..
if the arties can maintain separation then the tigers slow speed can leave them vulnerable.. especially against more than one color of arties... (maps with multi-color chokepoints)
and yes I wouldnt usually back tigers with arties of my own, but might look to pair up with an ally who has artillery.
hell most of the time heavy tank spam with Germany is all you need, and forget the tigers and arties altogether. |

But you might need the artys for fire support because your opponents may have all artys against you or teammates |

Medium/small tanks that can rush in on the artys and devastate them quick and more effectively than the King Tiger by its self, that's what I usually back up the King Tiger with. |

Um I usually use anti mechs a lot to blow them. I faced against the US artys and mechs and still owned them with my mechs and snipers. I was just lucky I had the bomb. Well Kings are slow I don't usually make them unless it is a long battle between the opponents. |
