Well Vista will run Axis and Allies RTS, but it has been prone to some crashing. Some have had luck running the game in "XP compatibility mode" - so you might try that if you are having issues.. Windows has a page regarding Windows Vista and Axis and Allies RTS, but it currently says only "Status Unknown"

xp compatibility mode is good, but it also really helps to run as an admin,
just right-click and run as admin
 |
