Not sure it serves any strategic importance, but as long as you have turned the setting on in your game options

| Camera Rotation – Toggles camera rotation ON / OFF |
you can rotate and zoom in/out the camera view of the game. The controls are located on the number pad, on the right side of a tradional US keyboard. Laptop users usually don't have one, but external USB models are available.
- 4 and 6 rotate the camera
- 8 and 2 zoom in/out
- 5 resets the view to default
- the other numbers do stuff, can't remember
