Russian Arty Tank - ISU-152

Axis and Allies RTS - The ISU-152, which in alot of ways resembles a rolling block of steel, is graced with the highest health and defense value of any of the Arty Tank Units. While not the best upgrades, not terrible either with Diesel Engines, Entrenchment, Gyrostabilized Tank Guns, Mechanical Reliability, and Long Range Artillery

On the regimental level, they are also paired with three KV-1 Light Tanks, which are probably the best in the game (before upgrades) . The Russian Light Tanks also feature the higher health and defense values than other countries.

Even the Russian KV-1 Command Tank is second only to the German Panzer IV

Which of course makes the Russian Arty Tank regiment a great choice as your main force, or in support of Russian IS-2 Joseph Stalin Heavy Tanks!

Russian arties are alright, however the higher health for lower damage(no Improved Fire Control) is not a favorable trade for a bombard unit Imho.

personally I prefer the Brit/US arties, and Jap well, they're different Razz

oh and while we're discussing Russian armor, their heavy tanks are perfectly fit for the higher health to lower damage formula! heavy tanks need to get close to the arties in the late game, hence they need to survive first and foremost. than the massive damage, along with Gyrostabalized Tanks will make short work of the Light Tank escorts and even the arties themselves.

so personally I preffer to go with the heavy tanks, unless the terrain/map heavily favours arties over heavy tanks...

True unless upgraded but Russian Heavy tanks are better
