I've been messing around for a while trying to mod A&A, and currently am having much difficulty getting a modded battleship to deploy (via transport) a division I added a while back, which can successfully be deployed (on ground, not by air) from the Airborne HQ.

I thought I should come here and ask the experts if there's something I can do to fix this.

(The problem: The Unit icon does not show up on the battleship's recruitment menu, and therefore can not be deployed. I have tried multiple times to fix this and I HAVE made the neccesary changes to the regiment's .TGI file by creating an amphibious variant of the regiment and defining it's transport as the US water transport. Likewise I have added the regiment's amphibious IDS to the battleship's recruitment section in the battleship's .TGI file.)

Any help is appreciated

if this is based on a paratrooper regiment I'm guessing that the battleship doesn't possess the necessary property or element to allow that regiment to be deployed. for example-- it might have "paratrooper_company" in the properties component-- which would preclude it from ever showing up on a battleship. get rid of that line item and I think it will show up.

you didn't give me a whole lot of specific information to help you with-- but reading between the lines, I -think- this is the problem you're dealing with.

removed paratrooper_company (I had already added "infantry_company" in addition to the paratrooper property), but it still does not work. Here is what I am trying:

I had this problem today. make sure you go into the Unit.tgi files and either duplicate/rename them or remove the technology requirements.

you need to redesignate this regiment as a regular infantry regiment-- it's still using the Paratrooper regimental template-- so that's another thing preventing you from recruiting this regiment from a battleship. to save yourself some trouble in the future base any regiment you want to deploy from a battleship on the standard infantry regiment OR on the Marine infantry regiment. using a Paratrooper template will prevent them from being deployed from battleships. I suspect if you tried deploying this regiment from an aircraft carrier it would probably work in it's present form.

Im currently using a clone of the marine regiment .tgi, albeit with my modded units, and it still does not work.

EDIT: It works now, for some reason the basic MI unit had a building requirement I missed.
