Operation Felix

Operation Felix was the codename that the plan of invasion against Gibraltar received by the German Army. Though the operation also pay attention to Canarias Island principally with the objective to give support to U-Boats in future action and to extend their board of action. The strategic objective was to defeat the British, but finally the operation was not lunched because other fronts as the soviet front were more important for Hitler, but also because Spain finally didn´t enter in the war with Axis forces.

The main objective of this plan was to defeat the British become the Mediterranean Sea in a “German-Italian lake” and to cut the supplies from Middle East and India, one aspect key to the British because without these supplies the British would be defeat in only several months.
Many authors consider that if the operation Felix had been launched with success the WWII could have been very different.

Interesting Germany plans but never seem to accomplish and finish off.
