actually, I do like the idea of replacing the flamethrower infantry in the Mechanized Urban Warfare Regiment(s). this is exactly where the Germans would have used them-- and it would give it more health.

speaking of which, I've been testing out the mod-- and I'm starting to think that the British APC Regiment should be moved to the Mechanized and Armored HQs. the AI loves building these things right off the bat-- and it ends up crippling them from an economic stand-point. it's a powerful regiment in the mech stage-- because they can be upgraded with Gyrostabilized Guns, Improved Machine Guns, Advanced Armor Training-- so that they're tougher than halftracks and pack a lot of firepower relative to halftracks--

I don't know about anybody else-- but after playing through a dozen different scenarios I'm starting to think that eliminating this regiment from the Heavy Infantry Division is probably the best solution if the AI can't handle it. in terms of person-to-person play it might give Great Britain too much of an advantage considering that they could deploy SAS and Gurkhas as well. anybody else have thoughts on the APC regiment?

I think the heavy infantry division should be what its name implies, infantry only.

APC should be moved to mech HQ only methinks, since its like a heavy halftrack.

I don't mind maybe the odd-ball unit with a tank for CO (like I did for the Japanese-- because let's face it, they need the help).

but, yeah, beyond a certain point it creates too much of an advantage.

so, in towards the end-- if we remove the German "Jaeger" infantry (because it has a tank for a CO and an assault gun in it)-- do you want to replace it with Gebirgsjaeger infantry? it would give Germany a counter to the Russian snow-bonus.

Harko, I'm curious: what Italian regiments and units will you be modelling?

I did a artillery tank unit, a couple at tanks, a medium and heavy tank thus far.

Semovente 105/25, Semovente 75/18, Semovente 149/40, the one Italian heavy tank that looks like a panzer, and then the medium tank which I forgot the name of. The models are done, I just have to skin them yet.

I plan on adding blackshirts, bersaigelli, commandos and the regular at, infantry and mortar regiments. I also have a at machine gun regiment. For the bersaigelli, I am going to try to add a doodad plant to it, so that the helmets look historical (Since that's what they looked like).

I still have to figure what to do for a light tank, halftracks (regular, at and artillery). I have done the trucks already as well.

For buildings, I have done the three upgrade buildings (Mortor Pool, artillery brigade, and engineer brigade) and the mech and tank divisions. These are just reskins though of British buildings.

I have to do the depots and the infantry/airborne HQ. Its just skinning is tedious and boring, plus I wanted to do more generals for the original factions, so I haven't done much recently. I am going to take a few days break (Since I have much schoolwork), come back and do some more generals, then start back up on Italy.

Then I plan on doing France, with I have some ideas for.

The Italians are like the British faction of the Axis. Good defense and at units and some good infantry.

yeah, I got Lemay and the others in the mail.

I was planning on doing an Italian L3/33 tankette (the one that got sold to China). with some minor adjustments I could probably make the flame-thrower variant as well.

since the Alpini were technically recruited as a seperate division I'd be willing to work on all of the Alpini related units and regiments when I get the time. I found some examples of Italian camoflage and was planning to give the elite Alpini divisions camoflaged HQs comparable to the Waffen SS tents that exist in my mod.

the Me.262 looks like it's a possibility-- but it also looks mind-bendingly difficult! I would expect that the transformation might take a month's worth of effort. perhaps before jumping on the that project something more low key is in order! like turning the Corsair into the P47 Thunderbolt and having that be a new tactical bomber instead of the P51.

This would be helpful.

You seem to be good at the camoflage skins, so its best for you to do them.

I intend on adding a chemical thrower to Italy and making bombers chemically upgradeable, so I am thinking that Italy should get no flame tank.
