Field Marshall
Rundstedt helped to direct some of Nazi Germany’s earliest military actions, including the invasions of Poland and France. He was subject to Hitler’s capriciousness more than once, having been replaced or relieved of command on three separate occasions after having differences of opinion with Germany’s dictator.
