Generals and Special Operations A single general, chosen from a set of four available to each nation, leads every army. Each general has four trademark special operations, based on historical exploits, that you can use during the game to give your side an edge or to weaken your enemies. Expand the special operations bar on the upper left of the gameplay screen to accesses these functions. Each special operation has a cost in army experience that you must pay each time you use it.
